Growth Mindset

I have always had an idea of what the growth mindset was without having a name for it, whether I practiced it or not.   When I was in secondary school a man came to give my year a talk mainly about positive thinking but had some themes that linked with the growth mindset. I guess without realizing I had carried his words with me as that is usually the way to get me to work on something I have been putting off. I have never heard of Carol Dwek before this assignment but I do agree with her in what she says about the growth mindset.  She talks about a study where fixed mindsets students run from error and are likely to cheat or find someone who performed worse than them. Unlike growth mindset students who engage with their error and use it as a tool for their future success. I agree as I have been both students. I can sometimes lump things I have difficulty doing with me just not being right for it. Though for other skills no matter how hard I fail I'll keep trying to get it right.

Me  Introduction to me...me  Hello readers, I am the creator of this blog. My name is Samira but I usually go by Mimi online. I am nineteen, my star sign is Libra and my Myer Briggs personality type is ENTJ, in case that gives any insight on me. If  not, this blog post hopefully will. Garlic knots by Mimi Hobbies: In my free time I enjoy reading, I find it relaxing and brilliantly time consuming. I am currently reading 'The Wrath and The Dawn' By  RenĂ©e Ahdieh. I  have recently  taken up drumming  as well. I saved up to buy an electric drum set last spring and have learned five-ish new songs. With Covid taking over our lives I have developed the skill of baking. My mother has always been a great cook so I thought I should follow in her footsteps. I also love to watch movies and shows. I much rather watch shows with people than binging alone. This summer me and my sisters binged shows like Good Girls and The Vampire Diaries ( a personal favourite). Speaking of... Favourites: My

Favourite Game

Favourite Game  For my first assignment I was prompted to write about my favourite game, funnily enough I've never had an passion for gaming. I did however get my first phone at the age of 11 and had no use for it but to play games . It was a Samsung, model S5360 and was housed in my favourite colour: pink! Something as small as colour made me grow attached to the electronic brick especially since that was the year Cut the Rope was released (4/10/10). "Cute The Rope" Source: Pixabay The first Cut the Rope game follows the frog like creature Om Nom in a series of box rooms e.g. a box room, fabric and foil room. The aim of the game is to feed Om Nom by retrieving candy along with three stars from a rope through physics-based puzzles with the help of tools introduced in each box like cushions, bubbles and magic hats.
